How to make bare skin look more sporty with nude-bronze makeup

The look: Natural with a touch of gold, so your face doesn’t look too bare

or washed out, says makeup artist Alex T. 

Getting it right: The idea is to warm the complexion. No megawatt highlighters or heavy use of sculpting powder a la Instagram makeup.  

Go for: Matte or slightly shimmery bronze. Alex says to use a soft, fluffy brush (not a densely packed one), which makes blending easier as it doesn’t deposit too

much product.

The HW pick: Chanel’s new Duo Bronze et Lumiere palette, which has a matte bronzer and a pearlescent highlighting powder. Dust the bronzer onto cheeks, forehead and nose, then blend out at the edges with the highlighter. Or mix bronzer and highlighter together and apply lightly over the face for a sun-kissed glow.
