If you’re someone who doesn’t normally wear lipstick, Shu Uemura’s sheer lipstick is a great place to start. It glides on effortlessly, is moisturising on the lips, and has buildable coverage if you want a more opaque finish.

These lipsticks apply like butter due to the intensely soft and creamy formula. However, if you have dry and flaky lips, the formula might latch onto dead skin and emphasise imperfections, so be sure to exfoliate and moisturise beforehand. The lipstick itself feels very moisturising on the lips. The finish is satiny but you can blot it for a slightly more toned down look.

They are even forgiving on slightly flaky lips, though I will always recommend exfoliating your lips beforehand.

They boast a new "Hydra-Gel" topcoat that’s supposed to seal in the colour for longer, and a triple oil complex in the core - this complex makes up the CD logo which runs through the middle of the lipstick - to smooth and plump lips. This shade Wonderful is a light, sheer and shimmery pink that is perfect with a more natural makeup look.
