Multi-tasking is an excellent skill to have and, when it comes to our beauty products, we prefer those that serve more than one function. While the original Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler revolutionised styling, this re-engineered version goes a step further with the ability to dry, curl, shape as well as hide flyaways more efficiently and quickly.

Forget multiple devices and cables and wondering where you’re going to store various beauty products because the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler is the one device you will need to achieve all your hair inspo goals.

Want to know more about this cult favourite? Here are three things that will make you want to add it to your cart immediately.

No heat damage

The AirwrapTM multi-styler employs intelligent heat control to ensure that hair isn’t exposed to excessive temperatures. A glass bead thermistor in the machine measures the temperature of air exiting the machine 40 times a second and transmits this data to the microprocessor, which intelligently controls the patented double-stacked heating element.  This helps to ensure the temperature of air you’re using on your hair doesn’t exceed 150 degrees.

At the heart of the Dyson AirwrapTM sits a radical idea: to combine a fast, high-pressure motor to power a phenomenon known as the Coanda effect, allowing you to curl, smooth and dry hair without the need for extreme heat. The Coanda phenomenon occurs when air, propelled at the right speed and pressure, naturally follows an adjacent surface, entraining surrounding air and with it – hair.

Powered by the Dyson digital motor V9 which spins at up to 110,000rpm, the machine is powerful enough to produce the air pressure needed to create the Coanda effect.

So, what you’re doing is styling your hair with air, instead of extreme heat. This means less damage to your hair and scalp, which in turn strengthens your strands. Plus, the air vents have been miniaturised, resulting in a level of airflow velocity, pressure and control that has never before seen.

Versatility with various attachments

The new generation Airwrap comes with re-engineered attachments that allow you to create a variety of hairstyles to flatter different hair types – making the machine a versatile everyday styler.

The first re-engineered attachment is the new bi-directional barrel which features a rotating cool tip. This allows you to create clockwise and anti-clockwise curls and waves, without the need to switch attachment mid-style.

Combining two attachments in one, the Coanda smoothing dryer hides flyaways in a single pass, with no extreme heat and transforms into a powerful dryer with the flick of a switch. Lastly, the re-engineered soft and firm brush attachments deliver precision shaping with enhanced Coanda performance. Enhanced Coanda airflow attracts and aligns hair with increased control for a straighter style.

The Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler is also super easy to use. Plus, you can personalise and customise the new styling tool when you buy direct from Dyson. It’s time to embrace salon-worthy styles from the comfort of your home, thanks to the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler.

This new version is the first time users are able to retain their original machine and upgrade to the latest attachments, which is yet another sustainable step by the brand. Dyson also used advanced computational fluid dynamics, machine learning and intelligent digital design software to engineer this new Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler. These sustainable design practices mean there are fewer physical prototypes and, therefore, less waste.

Two Limited-edition Colourways

This festive season, get the Dyson AirwrapTM multi-styler in two limited-edition colourways. The Blue Blush colourway ($859) sees an electrifying ultra blue contrasted with a pastel bluish pink. While the blue shade is modelled on the intense hue of the lapis lazuli semi-precious stone, the pink harks back to the fuchsia pink that marked the brand’s entry into haircare products. Its ultra-matte finish makes it smooth to the touch and easier to grip.

The Ceramic Pop colourway ($859) was specially developed to mark Dyson’s 25 years in Japan and is inspired by the colour scheme of Dyson’s first manufactured machine – the G-Force vacuum cleaner, which was sold in Japan in the 1980s. This is a more playful colour combination, boldly combining hues of Blush Pink, Ceramic Topaz and Ceramic Patina. The ‘ceramic’ finish is meant to evoke the silky-smooth finish of unglazed ceramic. Both these designs make fabulous festive gifts – or you can pick one up for yourself!
