Wet ‘n’ Wild cosmetics have announced their first ever celebrity spokeswoman in the form of Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, while a Wet ‘n’ Wild by Fergie line is possibly in the cards.

The songstress, whose past beauty endeavors include perfumes Outspoken and Outspoken Intense for Avon and a lipstick for MAC’s Viva Glam initiative in 2009, feels the ideal ambassador for the US brand as she was familiar with it growing up in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Hacienda Heights.

“In Hacienda Heights, there were a lot of beautiful chola girls. They wore Wet ‘n’ Wild. I would watch them put on their eyeliners and lip liners at school,” she was quoted as saying in WWD February 9.

Although the Wet ‘n’ Wild by Fergie line hasn’t been solidified, it is expected that the eye, lip and nail categories will be target areas for an eventual collection.

“I have always been a big enthusiast of playing with nail color, design and shape,” said the singer.

Meanwhile, actress Mischa Barton also announced plans to venture into beauty this week, with the launch of a range including moisturizer, exfoliating scrubs, soaps and candles.

While the star’s handbag collection is now in its eighth season, the beauty expansion plans follow news she will open her first Mischa Barton boutique in London’s Spitalfields area this spring. The shop will also stock clothing and fashion accessories inspired by Barton’s vintage finds. –AFP RELAXNEWS
