It’s the sultry look that’s favoured by makeup artists, celebrities and fashion designers alike.
The smokey eye is a modern classic and according to a survey published this week, it’s a look most favoured by men.
According to the poll of 1,000 men carried out by online beauty retailer Escentual.com, the look was voted top because it is “timeless” and makes a woman look “sexy and mysterious”.
Here are celebrity makeup artist Jackie Tyson’s tips for the perfect smokey eye.
1. Start by applying M.A.C Fluidline in Dipdown with a soft brush to create a solid base across the lids and under the eyes.
2. Blend it right down with a brush before applying M.A.C Eye Shadow in Tone and Tone in the outer corners to add drama.
3. Add some shimmer with L’Oréal Studio Secrets Eye Intensifier, which will maximise your eye colour.
4. On the lashes, apply two coats of Avon Spectralash Mascara and if you feel like adding some extra drama, pop on a pair of Eylure false lashes to complete the look. © Cover Media
