London Fashion Week may run for less than a week, but its impact on beauty trends is no less diminished. Thanks to its reputation for being innovative and fearless, editors have always looked towards London Fashion Week for some of the most avant garde up-and-coming trends, be it in fashion or beauty. The past week in London brought us plenty of 90s-inspired looks, with a heavy dose of rave and disco culture. Click through the gallery to see what caught our eyes.

Glitter eyes

2/8

It looks like the collective enthusiasm for Euphoria-inspired makeup looks has carried over the pond, with glittery eyes making an appearance at House of Holland and Halpern.

At House of Holland, the look was inspired by a mixture of 70s disco and 90s rave culture, culminating in an explosion of pinks and purples, topped off with a heavy lashing of glitter.

Deconstructed liner

3/8

No fashion week is complete without at least one show sending out models in graphic liner. This season, makeup artists backstage have taken to creating deconstructed, free strokes around the eye to create striking looks.

At Victoria Beckham, models wore eyeliner in the crease, while Simone Rocha saw models with sketchy strokes to form a deconstructed cat eye.

Gleaming skin

4/8

Clear skin and no-makeup has long been a mainstay of Fashion Weeks, so we weren’t too surprised to see it on numerous runways. However, we did note that the models sported gleaming skin – not semi-matte, unlike their peers at New York Fashion Week. Fresh, glowy skin is paired with natural blush and just bitten lips.

Black lips

5/8

Black lipstick doesn’t sound like the most wearable thing around, but the soft stained lips at Molly Goddard just about changed our minds. Paired with low messy buns, the overall look was, dare we say it, ethereal. The iteration at Marques’Almeida, however, went high octane with shiny, almost vinyl-like lips.

Sunset eyes

Why stick to one eyeshadow colour when you can create a literal sunset on your lids? At least, that’s what we’re getting from the models at shows like Mark Fast and House of Holland. Live a little, and experiment with your makeup from time to time.

Graphic black eye

7/8

We’ll always have a soft spot for strong eye looks with a heavy dash of black, as seen at Halpern and Ashish. You can either create a solid block of colour that’s almost feline, or go ham on the kohl. Either way, you can be sure that it’ll be a statement look.

French puff manicure

8/8

During Yuhan Wang’s showcase at the Fashion East collective show, we spotted something rather quaint: cloud-shaped nail tips. It’s an unusual shape to say the least, but we think it’ll be a fun Instagram-friendly alternative to coffin-shaped nails.
