Beauty obsession of the week: Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo

As much as I love matte lippies, my dry lips means I’m always on the lookout for an incredibly moisturising yet pigmented lipstick. If you’re on the hunt for a lipstick that has great shine and feels as comfortable as a balm, we’ve got just the one for you.

Chanel has just launched a Rouge Coco Stylo, a pen lipstick version of their original Rouge Coco lipstick. The new Rouge Coco Stylo comes packed with natural active ingredients like apple-seed extract and plant oils, as well as the signature hydrating Hydraboost complex in the Rouge Coco lipsticks. 

Put all of that together and you get a formula that’s incredibly hydrating on the lips and instantly softening without feeling thick or sticky to the touch. 

It only takes one creamy swipe to get an impressive amount of pigment, plus it leaves a finish that’s high in shine without looking too glossy. The creaminess does make the lipstick really soft, so while it melts on your lips, you need to be gentle with the lipstick in the pen when applying it. The pen itself is non-retractable, so you just have to twist up the amount you need as you go.

I love that the shine gives your lips the illusion of fullness, and that the lipstick is so easy to apply thanks to the skinny pen applicator. While most regular lipsticks are technically compact, they do have more bulk especially if you’re looking to stuff it into a skinny clutch bag. These stylo lip pens, on the other hand, are skinny enough that they make the perfect lipstick to slip in a tiny clutch.

The Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo ($49) will be available from 4 March 2016 and comes in seven shades as well as one limited edition one.
