Herbivore Botanicals Calm Ylang Ylang + Vanilla Dead Sea Soaking Salts, $28

1/6

This natural botanicals brand is new to Sephora Singapore, and offers everything from lip tints to face oils and even hair mists. The Calm bath salts contain a relaxing blend of ylang ylang and vanilla, as well as a mix of detoxifying Himalayan pink salt crystals and nutrient-rich Pacific Sea salts for a lovely spa-like experience.

These bath salts promise to help with alleviating anxiety, anger and even restlessness with the aid of 100 percent natural products. Herbivore Botanicals cold-presses or steam distills all the oils used to achieve the maximum quality possible. The one downside with bath salts? You need a bath tub to use them.

Aromatherapy Associates Bath Jewels, $80

2/6

This holiday kit comes with three of the brand’s signature bath and shower oils: One for deep relaxation; another to de-stress; and the last for reviving, which in my opinion is better suited to morning use. These oils are especially amazing to add to a relaxing soak in the bathtub, but they also work well in the shower if you don’t have a tub. You can apply the oil of choice to your body beforehand, massaging it into any knotty or achey areas that are feeling a little tense, then step into a nice warm shower and enjoy the relaxing aromatherapy. Don’t forget to breathe in deep!

24 Saturn Relaxed lavender shower gel, $15 for 200ml

3/6

24 Saturn is a fairly recent addition to the local beauty scene, but the brand already boasts a lovely range of basics from foot and body scrubs to a vitamin C face serum. I love a good scrub, but when you’re looking for a more fuss-free shower experience, a relaxing shower gel that you can just rinse off is perfect for a quick pep-me-up. This one has lavender oil as well as a moisturizing avocado oil to nourish the skin.

The Body Shop limited edition Vanilla Chai Body Butter, $32 for 200ml

5/6

Vanilla Chai is one of the three limited-edition Holiday scents released by The Body Shop this year. I love the warm sweet and spicy scent, and while it isn’t quite a bona fide essential oil in the vein of lavender, the relaxing vanilla scent is warm and inviting with notes of cinnamon and cardamom sweetened with brown sugar – still a great way to help yourself unwind. If body butters aren’t for you, you can try a lighter body lotion, or even the shower gel, body scrub, bath foam and a scented oil for your home. Personally, I quite like the body scrubs and body lotions as part of a two-step ritual because they’re great for exfoliating and keeping your skin hydrated.

Como Shambhala Little Box Of Calm, $46.70

6/6

If you’ve never heard of this brand, you aren’t alone. It’s a holistic spa line stocked and used at Como Hotels and Resorts. This Little Box of Calm is a duo product containing a body oil and an aromatherapy balm that are meant to calm you as well as de-stress the body and mind.

It contains a relaxing blend of bergamot, lavender and geranium essential oils. These two best-sellers are free of parabens and sulphates, and are even supposed to help with your sleep. You can always ask a friend or your partner to help you out with a relaxing massage using the body oil. The balm is easily applied to your pulse points before bedtime to lull you into a restful sleep.

This Little Box of Calm is also an Editor’s Pick on www.beautybay.com.
