Time to get packing!

1/13

Planning a trip (and the actual trip itself) can be fun and terribly exciting, but the hassle of packing for said trip? Not so much. Whether you’re opting for a quick weekend getaway and want to avoid check-in baggage or are going on a long-haul trip and need all the luggage space you can get, you always want to pack as light as possible.

It may not be a priority if you’re travelling first class and have a ridiculous 50kg baggage allowance, but hey, the extra space you save could always be filled up with more duty-free shopping.

From face masks to brow products and our favourite base makeup must-haves, here are the travel-size beauty buys that will make travelling a breeze.

Nars Mini Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla or Custard, $18

2/13

The Radiant Creamy Concealer (RCC) from Nars is still one of the best concealers around for covering up dark eye circles and discolouration. It’s creamy and blends out easily with at least a medium level of coverage! There are only a couple of shades available in the mini version, but if you’ve of a light or light-to-medium skin, then you should get yourself a mini RCC to keep in  your bag or take on your travels.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, $30 for 10ml

3/13

One of the priciest primers in Sephora, this is amazing for keeping oily skin in control throughout the day without feeling like you have anything on your skin. It feels silky to the touch, minimises the appearance of redness and pores, and also contains a physical SPF15 sunscreen. If you’ve yet to try this primer, definitely start with the travel sized bottle before splurging on the standard or jumbo ones!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal or Moonstone, $29 for 20ml

4/13

Liquid highlighters are so handy and versatile when you travel. Use them alone to highlight the high points of your face or mix them in with your foundation for a more radiant finish. The highlighters from Becca are absolutely gorgeous and come in several different sizes and are quite pricey, so give them a try with the mini first!

Benefit Cosmetics mini products

5/13

Benefit is one of my favourite brands for sampling products. They have mini versions for about half the price of full sized products, and if you’re anything like us, you’d  rarely get through full sized makeup to begin with, so you might as well spend half the price on a product. Mascaras in particular only have a three-to-six month shelf life, so they’re more difficult to use up as is.

Hoola mini, $26 for 4g

Gimme Brow Mini, $21

Roller Lash mini, $21 for 4g

The Porefessional, $21 for 7.5ml

Mini Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain, $21

Caudalie Beauty Elixir, $21 for 30ml

6/13

This mist is a cult favourite among professional makeup artists and beauty buffs alike. It does contain alcohol, which some people may prefer to avoid, but it also packs a punch with the myriad of plant extracts and essential oils that are said to work to brighten and hydrate the skin.

Its pore-tightening properties mean that you can actually use it as a makeup setting spray as well, or as a primer before you start applying makeup. If your skin is looking a little dull over the course of the day, this mist will get your skin looking radiant again. Bonus: The tingly sensation upon application is rather fun and quite refreshing indeed.

Fresh Beauty Besties, $35

7/13

You get a travel-sized Soy Face Cleanser (50ml) and mini Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask (15ml) in this kit, which in our opinion is a fabulous combination for your skin, especially if you’re going somewhere with weather that will dry your skin out. The Soy Face Cleanser remains one of the most noteworthy face washes for a thorough cleansing without stripping your skin of moisture, and is something I’ve continued to repurchase after I’ve run out. Available on Sephora.sg. You can also purchase the cleanser separately for $23.

Fresh face masks, $38

8/13

Three of our favourite Fresh masks have received their own travel-sized editions this month! The Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask, hydrating Rose Face Mask and exfoliating Sugar Face Polish are now available in 30ml versions and retail for $38 each. If you wait until July 2017, the travel-sized Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Face Mask will be available as well!

Make Up For Ever travel essentials

9/13

Base makeup essentials are incredibly important when you travel, especially when you want your skin to look its best all day in your holiday snaps. Some of Make Up For Ever’s key products like the Smoothing, Mattifying and Hydrating Step 1 primers are available in a handy 15ml size, depending on your skin needs. The smoothing one is great for filling in large pores or rough texture if you apply it just where you need it, though we wouldn’t recommend slapping it over your entire face.

The brand also has a mini version of its best-selling HD Microfinish Powder for setting your makeup flawlessly, an alcohol-free Mist & Fix Setting Spray that keeps your makeup in place and sweat-proof all day without drying out your skin, and a travel-sized instant brush cleanser for keeping your makeup brushes spotless.

Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers, $37 for 15ml

HD Microfinish Powder, $38 for 4g

Mist & Fix setting spray, $22 for 30ml

Instant Brush Cleanser, $20 for 50ml

Urban Decay Travel-Size Sprays, $22 for 30ml

10/13

Setting sprays from Urban Decay are some of the best around, with the All Nighter spray in particular amassing a huge cult following. It quite literally keeps your makeup on all night, no matter how hot or sweaty things get. But when it comes to travelling light or weekend trips, the full-sized sprays have always been just a little too large to take with.

Thankfully, the brand has had a travel-sized All Nighter spray available for a couple of years, now, and has just added the De-Slick setting spray (a must-have for anyone with especially oily skin) and Quick Fix prep priming spray (perfect for dry skin types) to its travel-size selection.

Pixi Glow Tonic, $28 for 100ml

11/13

This exfoliating toner is loved by many. It removes dead skin cells and refines your skin with the help of a few acids (including glycolic acid) and a number of soothing ingredients like aloe vera and ginseng. The regular bottle is a large 250ml one, so we’re relieved there’s a 100 ml version to ensure we can bring this with us anywhere. The only issue? It’s constantly sold out which means you’ll want to put yourself on the Sephora.sg waitlist to find out when it’s restocked!

Origins Mask Pods, $5 for 10ml

12/13

Whether you already love Origins masks or want to finally try them out while you’re on holiday, you’ll want to sample each and every one of Origins handy little pod-sized masks. They’re really affordable and can last you a couple of uses, and of course are really handy to throw in your beauty bag or even use on the plane. If you struggle with congested skin or acne, the Clear Improvement and Out of Trouble masks are our faves. Drink Up (or Drink Up Intensive) is perfect for hydrating your skin on planes or in dry climates, and the Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief mask is great for stressed or sensitive skin.

Sephora Collection empties, $2-$3

13/13

Lastly, if you just want to use your usual skincare or bath products that only come in larger sizes, you can get yourself some empty travel sized bottles and jars like these to take just a portion of your products with you. Trust us, it’s never worth lugging a 200ml bottle of anything on a holiday that’s going to last two weeks or less, especially if you need to pack more clothes or leave room for your shopping. Sephora has empty containers, bottles and even spray bottles for all your skincare and haircare needs.
