#1 START WITH THE SCALP
A healthy scalp means healthy hair, so take care of your scalp just like you would your face. Shampoo regularly – if you don’t, it can also result in dandruff , hair loss, and a build-up of oil and dead skin cells, which can clog hair follicles. Opt for formulas with vitamin E to boost shine and smoothness.
#2 GO EASY ON WET HAIR
Hair is most fragile when it’s wet, so don’t use too much strength when you towel-dry hair. And don’t tug your comb through knotted wet hair. Instead, detangle your strands in the shower, while you still have conditioner in your hair.
#3 PREVENT HEAT DAMAGE
If possible, air-dry your hair; it’s the best way to avoid damaging it. But for days when you want a polished blowout, be sure to use a hairdryer with ionic technology, or ceramic heated styling devices. And, of course, always use a heat protectant beforehand.
