Tackle dandruff, oiliness and itch with a customised scalp treatment

Scalp flare-ups have a way of creeping up in Singapore’s heat. The experience begins well before the treatment itself. Upon arrival, Her World Spa and Hair Awards reviewer Elise Wong – who had concerns about dandruff and an oily scalp – was welcomed with a cup of rose tea, before being guided through a detailed questionnaire covering her health history, genetics, lifestyle and diet.

Next, the consultant uses a Tricho-Scan device – magnifying the scalp up to 200 times – to assess Elise’s scalp condition in detail. This allows the treatment to be targeted to specific areas of concern, such as the root cause of her persistent dandruff and oiliness.

The treatment itself opens with a sensorial note, where a heated herb-infused shoulder pad is placed to boost blood circulation and melt away tension for deep relaxation.

A customised European Herbal Scalp Masque is then applied and massaged onto her scalp. In Elise’s case, the formulation included tea tree, which helps to soothe itchiness and reduce excess oil, and magnolia to enhance shine and protect the scalp from irritation.

The masque is left on for approximately 15 minutes, accompanied by a relaxing head massage that helps enhance absorption into her scalp pores.

Premium European herbs to nourish the scalp

The essence contains a trio of premium European herbs – saw palmetto, which helps slow thinning for healthier, thicker hair; calendula, to soothe inflammation; and nettle, which helps strengthen hair while retaining moisture. 

The nanotechnology behind the delivery method allows the essence to penetrate deeper into the scalp due to the mist’s smaller molecular size. The essence is then massaged onto the scalp to enhance the absorption further.
