This old-school toy and knickknacks shop in the hubbub of Holland Village has been around since the beginning of time (ok, since the 1960s). Its cellophane lanterns range come in a wide variety of designs including fish, bird, dinosaur, chicken and duck.

Where to buy traditional lanterns in Singapore this Mid-Autumn Festival

Vivocity is currently running its annual Tangs Mid-Autumn Fair in the mall’s central court atrium. The bazaar features over 40 brands of mooncakes for sale, but right at the fringe of it all is a stall selling lanterns of all sorts. The designs of its cellophane ones are mainly animal shapes, but there are also ones in cartoon characters such as Spiderman and Ben 10 to appeal to the little ones.

Price range: $6.90-$16.90

We spotted adorable minion-shaped cellophane lanterns in this store along the bustling pagoda street in Chinatown. You can’t miss it; it’s located right outside Chinatown MRT train station (Exit A).  In addition to the minion-shaped ones, there are also the typical animal designs for its cellophane collection.
