If you haven’t made plans for the weekend, we’d recommend that you and hubby check out the Singapore River Festival 2015 for a highly-entertaining visual feast.

Expect an array of spectacular activities at the festival, none more so than the headline act by Spanish theatrical group La Furas dels Baus. The aerial performers will have to execute impeccably choreographed moves to form a “human net” in mid-air, while being suspended over the Singapore River from a 220-tonne crane (see above photo)!

Other fringe activities include River Nights, a series of art installations. building projections and performances; Urban Artery, a 10-day public art exhibition featuring installations by over 30 local and international artists; a pop-up Riverside Makers Market, where you’ll get to browse and buy food and crafts from local artisans (above photo); live performances from local acts such as Havana Social Club and The Steve McQueens, as well as workshops that include acroyoga (a combination of acrobatics and yoga) and analog photography. How’s that for date night with a twist?

The Singapore River Festival runs from October 23 (Friday) to October 25 (Sunday). Admission is free. Visit singaporeriverfestival.sg for more info.
