1. Zaffron Kitchen
137 East Coast Rd, tel: 6440-6786

This north and south Indian restaurant serves old-fashioned favourites, from classic tandoors to zesty curries. Not to worry, though, there are non-spicy options for your little ones as well.

And when they’re done with their food, you get to relax a little longer while they’re having fun over at the wooden playhouse.

2. Morganfield’s
#02-23 The Star Vista,1 Vista Exchange Green, tel: 6694-3635

Kids eat free here, so we reckon it’s worth getting our fingers a little dirty for this.

Their signature Sticky Ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and richly slathered in gratifyingly flavourful, smoky BBQ sauce.

The relaxed atmosphere and long communal tables make it a great dining option for big families too.

3. Cafe Mosaic
Level 1, Carlton Hotel, 76 Bras Basah Rd, tel: 6311-8195

Weekends are strictly family time, so Cafe Mosaic’s weekend lunch buffets also come with an extra serving of fun-filled activities catered especially for families with young ones, from cupcake decorating to balloon sculpting.

Now that the kids won’t be bothering you, you can concentrate on eating all-you-can-eat!

4. Lowercase Cafe
Blk D #01-01, 1 McNally St, tel: 6337-5581

You’d never guess there’d be a family-friendly cafe like Lowercase hidden in the campus of LASELLE College of the Art.

There’s plenty of kid-friendly options that your little one (and you, too) will love, from Fish and Chips to pizzas.

…Only you’ll probably have a hard time getting them out of the bouncy castle to finish their meal.

5. Poison Ivy Bistro
Bollywood Veggies, 100 Neo Tiew Rd, tel: 6898-5001

Retreat to the countryside and enjoy farm-to-table local and fusion dishes, from salads to curries to pastas, at this eatery sat in the peaceful Bollywood Veggies Farm.

Of course, not before taking a tour of the farm, learning about greens and connecting with nature. Other activities include potting sessions, scarecrow building, and more. Perfect for an educational day out with the little ones!

6. EatPlayLove Cafe
#01-07, Aliwal Arts Center, 28 Aliwal St, tel: 6444-6400

A Thai-Western cafe serving Thai delights alongside simple Western fare, the food here is homely and satisfying.

But the highlight: this whimsical cafe is practically made for kids, from a dedicated kid’s menu with the kids’ portions of favourites like burgers to the craft corner where the kids can make their own sock puppets and artsy masterpieces.
