Just about everyone in South-East Asia loves the thorny king of fruits with its succulent and creamy flesh. But in order to properly enjoy a good durian, you’ll need the find the freshest ones possible and we’re sometimes a little too lazy to go far away to the roadside stands.

Fear not though, you won’t be stuck with a craving for long. Here are 6 websites that provide online delivery of the king of fruits.

 

Durian Culture

Who are they?

Well known as the Durian King, the famous family-owned store of Lim Chin Yong has expanded their business from Sims Avenue to Serangoon and now, online.

What durians?

They deliver both the sought after Mao Shan Wang ($30/kg) and D24 ($20/kg) cultivars of durians to your doorstops. Durian Culture also has mandarin oranges to sweeten the palate for those with a penchant for bitter durians.

Minimum for delivery

It is far more worthwhile if you order from them in bulk for either a party or an event due to their $200 minimum.

Jojo Durian

Who are they?

Definitely the poshest looking delivery service of the lot, they deliver from an unnamed but apparently famous Sims Avenue store with Malaysian and Thai durians.

What durians?

Jojo offers 3 varieties of durians (Mao Shan Wang $99.90, D24 $59.90 and Red Prawn $38.90) for delivery. They ar But they offer fantastic customer service that comes alongside your fruit. With every order of packaged, de-husked durians is a pack of coconut water to wash away the “heatiness” of the durians. And there are also gloves and tissue paper included in the package.

Minimum for delivery

You must order a minimum of 2 sets of each type of durian from their website.

Wonderful Durian

Who are they?

They own their own plantation in Malaysia’s Kampung Teretai in Johor and within 3 hours the freshly harvested fruits are brought across the Causeway. Their eponymous main store is at 147 Sims Avenue.

What durians?

Boasting 11 cultivars, Wonderful Durian can help address one’s craving for a particular type of durian.

They’ve got D24 ($12), XO D24 ($15), Red Prawn ($12) , Red Prawn King ($15), Cat Mountain King ($18), Premium Cat Mountain King ($38), Hu Lu King ($22), Golden Phoenix (\$28), Love Fruit ($28), Old Granny ($28) and their own unique King of the King ($38).

Minimum for delivery

There is a minimum of $100 for online orders.

Durian Garden

Who are they?

Providing a bit of snarky Singaporean humour (see their “Really Meh” section of the site, you’ll know what we mean) alongside their convenient durian delivery, Durian Garden was started by durian lover and founder Melvin Chua.

What durians?

Mao Shan Wang ($18/kg), Golden Phoenix ($16/kg) and D13, D101, Red Prawn all at $10/kg.

Minimum for delivery

If you buy over $120, there is a delivery charge of $15 and you can pick a delivery time slot to better plan when you’re going to gorge yourself on the king of fruits.

227 Katong Durian

Who are they?

Unsurprisingly run by the guys behind the 227 Katong Durian store, it’s run by Wong Yew Loon who became a full-time durian seller in 2008 and now operates at East Coast Road.

What durians?

They carry 9 varieties of durians alongside a generous offering of various fruits to spice up your at-home durian buffet. The 9 are Kampong, Red Prawn, D13, D24, Green Bamboo, XO, Black Pearl, Golden Phoenix and Mao Shan Wang.

If you want to have more than a 1 person feasting fiesta, you can also request for a durian party to be delivered right to your doorstep for family and friends to join in the fun.

Minimum for delivery

You’ll need to order over $120 or there will be a $30 delivery charge .Do note that their site doesn’t have online ordering during the peak durian season and orders during this time can only be arranged via a phone call at 9751 4828

Purely Fresh

Who are they?

Purely Fresh is an online grocer based in Singapore. But they don’t specialise in durians as they deliver quite a lot.

What durians?

They do offer a unique strain of durian, the Kampung durian. Known for its unique inconsistent flavour as the taste changes based on where it was harvested, you can have this dropped off at home at your convenience.

Minimum for delivery

The minimum is $49 of groceries with anything under $69 incurring a $6 delivery charge.
