1 SEEK THE SQUARES
The next time you buy food containers, go for clear and squarish ones instead of the opaque round designs – they take up less space in the cabinet and fridge, and let you see what’s inside.

2 FORGET IT NOT
Keep a roll of masking tape and a marker in the topmost kitchen drawer so you can easily label containers to mark what’s inside them.

3 SIZE IT DOWN
Tuck large plastic bags into plastic- bag dispensers and small ones into an empty tissue-paper box – sorting them by size makes it easier to find what you need.

4 KEEP IN SIGHT
Place leftovers at eye level in the fridge so you can see them right away.
