If your skin is sensitive, exfoliation can wreak as much havoc as a toilet brush – leaving it rough, irritated, red, or all of the above. For a little pampering, pick up a few of these bath and body goodies from Earths Botanics.
The collection offers three refreshing notes – Cucumber and Mint, Tangerine and Ginger, and Lavender and Lemon. But we particularly love the last for its soothing fragrance, which evokes memories of a luxurious spa hideaway.
Many may expect a creamy foam due to the lotion-like consistency of the Exfoliating Hand & Body Scrub, but the Manuka honey-infused concoction managed only minimum lather instead when we massaged and rubbed away. The oatmeal-hued scrub was speckled with apricot shells, which sloughed away grime, dirt and dead cells, so our skin looked smoother and felt softer immediately after.
Earth Botanics is made by Matakana Botanicals, which has been churning out all-natural formulations found mostly in First Class cabins and luxury hotels. At its botanical farm in Matakana, just north of Auckland in New Zealand, the team sources for and harvests natural ingredients such as macadamia oil.
In addition to Exfoliating Hand & Body Scrub, the Earth Botanics line-up also has a Bath & Shower Gel, and a Hand and Body Lotion. Its primary ingredient is Manuka Honey, which has amazing antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties. All products are free of parabens, synthetic colouring and animal testing, so they are really safe even for little ones.
Earths Botanics is available at selected John Little, Robinsons and Sephora stores. Prices start at $26.
