Ingredients
230 grams Plain Flour
1 3/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
230 grams Salt
1/4 teaspoon Bicarbonate Soda
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
180 grams Castor Sugar
1 tablespoon Ginger Powder
175 grams Shortening , room temperature
1 Fresh Egg
1 tablespoon Ginger , freshly grated
90 grams Molasses Syrup

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 180°c
2. Sieve flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl.
3. Cream bicarbonate soda, ginger powder, shortening and castor sugar for 4 minutes.
4. Add egg and continue beating for ½ minute.
5. Add molasses syrup and grated ginger. Continue beating for 1 minute.
6. Fold in dry ingredients from before to form a soft dough.
7. Drop dough by a teaspoon onto a greased baking tray. Bake in oven at 180°C for 15 – 20 minutes.
