Star Wars fans listen up: Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) has just unveiled its latest 787-9 Dreamliner, complete with R2D2 livery and a huge Star Wars logo on its fuselage. This is the first time that a Star Wars character is appearing on the exterior of a commercial aircraft.
This also marks the start of a five-year ANA Star Wars project, which is part of the airline’s strategy to further enhance its international presence. “We hope that like Star Wars, ANA will become well known and loved across all borders and generations,” shares Takasi Shiki, ANA Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
The aircraft will take to the skies in Autumn 2015, but specific routes and flights have yet to be determined. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
