Toasted or not, these were our unanimous favourites. When heated, they were buttery rich with thin and light layers and a lovely aroma. The untoasted ones were stretchy, flavourful and satisfyingly tasty. They were just a tad greasy, but we’re not complaining.

3 PETITS CROISSANTS
#01-01/02, 1 Zubir Said Drive, tel: 6835-7898
$1.80 each
They were the largest, with the mildest butter flavour. We liked that they were not greasy, and were fluffy inside and flaky on the outside when toasted. Given their size and subtle flavour, they would make good tuna mayo or ham and cheese croissant sandwiches.
RATING: 7.5/10

These definitely need to be heated up before they hit the breakfast table. They were bland with a hard crust but a minute in the toaster brought out their buttery flavour and crisp, flaky layers. The croissants we received were also slightly burnt on the bottom, which gave them a charred flavour.
RATING: 8/10

BREAD & HEARTH

These had mixed reviews – some testers liked their fresh but light buttery aroma, while others thought that they were too dense and doughy.

The toasted croissants crackled when we halved them, and the overly crisp layers were a little too sharp for us. The buttery flavour was evident, but we wished it was richer and fresher.
RATING: 7.5/10
