Desperately in need of new luggage? Consider Samsonite’s new, super-stylish “Cherish” collection, which is designed in collaboration with local actor Edmund Chen.

Edmund previously set a Guinness World record in 2013 for the longest drawing by an individual (he spent eight consecutive days completing it!). Four parts of his 600-meter long masterpiece have since been re-interpreted by the actor himself, and interwoven into (not just printed on) the shells of Samsonite’s signature Cosmolite collection. The result is a unique, four-piece luggage collection featuring beautiful and intricate koi motifs that reflect the changing seasons. Definitely a refreshing change from the technicolour luggages you often see these days!

100 pieces of the first design (called “Spring”) will be available in two sizes ($850 upwards) from June 2015 at selected Samsonite boutiques. Five exclusive sets of the full series will also be available, with all proceeds going towards charity.

If you’re inspired by Edmund’s artistic endeavours, do also check out Samsonite’s regional “Be A Samsonite Designer” contest, where you’ll be able to design a luggage inspired by your home country. The contest will run from March 16 to April 30; check out www.samsonitedesigner.com for more info.
