Fans of local film can look forward to the release of 7 Letters this July, among the bumper crop of Singapore films slated for release this year. 7 Letters is a highly-anticipated SG50 film project that coalesces shorts by seven of Singapore’s most illustrious filmmakers, namely Boo Junfeng, Jack Neo, Tan Pin Pin, Royston Tan, Kelvin Tong, Eric Khoo and K Rajagopal. The anthology will showcase each filmmaker’s personal connection with Singapore, and will revolve around everyday themes such as identity, lost love, inter-generational familial bonds and even a touch of traditional folklore.

To make this one-of-a-kind project extra special, 7 Letters will be the first film to open at the historical Capitol Theatre. The iconic building is currently undergoing an extensive revamp, and is set to become Southeast Asia’s largest single-screen cinema, with a whopping 900 seats.

The film is slated to premiere on July 24 (so mark your calendars!). Pricing details have not yet been released, but do bookmark 7letters.sg for further updates.
