There’s a new transport player in town! Beeline is a government-backed transport app that enables you to pre-book seats on private shuttle buses, which ply routes determined by users. Here’s what we love about it:

Shorten your travelling time
Each express bus route has no more than five pick-up points, so you’ll get to your destination quickly. Granted, you’ll still zip around much faster in a private car or taxi, but this will still save you plenty of time compared to slogging it out on public transport.

Commute in comfort
Gone are the days of squeezing into overcrowded public buses and trains. You’re guaranteed a seat on the shuttle bus once your booking gets through!

Hassle-free booking
Book the day before or up to two months ahead. The service is operational during peak hours on weekdays, and timings depend on the route selected and the stop you are boarding from.

Suggest your preferred routes
There are currently 21 routes and 11 buses on Beeline, but you can request for alternative routes. Some of the routes plied include Punggol Central Field to Anson Road/Cross Street, Yishun Avenue 11 to Suntec, Whampoa/Balestier to Mapletree Business City.

Just log on to www.beeline.sg and submit your preferred pick-up location and destination. The app will analyse all of its crowd-sourced suggestions to identify the most popular requests, then hire private bus operators to run activated routes.

Track your bus’s location
Don’t fret about being stranded at a bus stop, if your ride is nowhere in sight. You can easily track your bus’s location in real-time, thanks to the app’s inbuilt GPS system.

Easy on the pocket
Each one-way ride typically costs between $4 and $6 – that’s way more affordable than riding a private car or taxi. You’ll even get a discount for every five trips you book! What’s more, you pay directly with your credit card via your smartphone, so no more fumbling for your EZ-Link card or exact change when taking the bus or cab.
