Red is the lip colour of the moment. But if you’ve shied away from it because it’s too bold or dramatic for you, or takes a practised hand to apply it mistake-free, there’s good news – you can wear it so the lips are softly defined. This reduces colour intensity and makes red lipstick highly wearable and beautiful.
Step 1 Begin with well-moisturised lips as lipstick will make any dryness or scaliness look more pronounced.
Step 2 With a foundation brush or your ring finger, dab some foundation around your lips. This creates fuller-looking lips, and provides a base that will make the lip colour pop, says makeup artist Larry Yeo.
Step 3 Apply lipstick only to the centre of your lips.
Step 4 Using your finger, spread the lipstick over your lips, leaving the edges undefined.
