ASOS and 5 online shopping sites that have free returns

We love online shopping, save for the times the items that come in the mail don’t fit us or we just don’t like them. Thankfully, some online retailers have great return policies that promise you a money-back guarantee on your purchases within a given amount of time from the date of order.

Here are five online stores that do just that.

1 Asos

The beloved British online retailer recently revised its policy such that Singaporeans can now return any product for a full refund within 28 days of receiving the original order. Generate a return label on http://wnreturns.com/asos/en/ and attach it to your return parcel.

Drop the parcel off at any Singpost office. Be sure to include the original delivery invoice from the package you are returning. The abovementioned site will also provide a tracking number so you’ll know when it’s been received.

Take note that free returns only apply to the main Asos store and not Asos Marketplace, which links users directly to independent boutiques. If you have bought something from Asos Marketplace, you will need to contact the seller to find out about their return policies.

2 Lazada

If you bought a toaster on impulse on Lazada, fear not because the ecommerce site accepts all reasons for returns including a change of heart. This is provided that the product is still sealed in its original packaging with tags and labels intact, and the return is made within 14 days of receiving the item.

Simply log on to your account on the website and fill in the return form. You have two options for return, either drop the item off at any post office or Popstation, or request for a pick-up by the site’s courier. Refunds are processed once the quality of the returned item has been evaluated, within two to four days.

3 Zalora

Sometimes, we need more than a week or two to brood over a bad buy. Zalora provides free returns within 30 days of delivery, so you can bide your time. Just fill in the return slip and return the item with the tags attached, together with the invoice within the original box.

There is a catch: not all items are exchangeable or refundable. Check the list of brands that are not covered by Zalora’s return policy before you buy something you might regret.

4 Decathlon

Members of this online sports retailer are in luck. While non-members get 30 days to return products, members get an entire year to decide! Users can log in to their accounts and select the items they wish to return. Print out the return label and send in back in the mail.

Of course, items must be unused and in their original packaging. Promotional items, hygiene products and swimwear, and safety products such as helmets, protection pads, rope, carbiners, quickdraw and harnesses are non-refundable.

5 August Society

This swimwear brand lets you try on bikinis in the comfort of your home, and return them if they don’t suit your tastes.

In fact, they encourage you to buy more than you need. According to their site, they recommend “ordering different sizes at once and returning those pieces that don't fit, rather than ordering individual pieces and exchanging them for other sizes” in order to save yourself time.

To send back any unwanted items within 14 days of delivery, just follow the instructions within the parcel you received. The company’s courier will then arrange a time with you to pick up the item so you won’t even have to step out the door. Even sales items can be returned, if you’re willing to travel down to their physical store at 16A Haji Lane.

6 Farfetch

The big-ticket purchases like luxury bags can often leave us with the worst buyer’s remorse. This merciful luxury online retailer grants you free returns within 14 days of receiving your order from any of the boutiques on their site. Arrange for a pick-up from your desired location by logging on to your account and filling in the necessary information.

            Do not seal the package that you wish to return before the courier arrives to pick it up. They need to check that the quality of the product is up to scratch and has its tag intact before allowing you to return it.
