ORTO t

No plans for the weekend? Perhaps it’s time you visited ORTO, a new multi-facility sports and leisure destination that has replaced the old Bottle Tree Park in Sembawang. Here are five reasons you and your family should pay the park a visit:

Its ambience is laid-back and charming.

The waterfront park boasts a relaxed, rustic vibe, with plenty of lush greenery and structures furnished from recycled wood. You can even go longkang fishing to amp up the kampong feel.

The park is open 24 hours.

ORTO is open 24/7 – it even boasts 24-hour fishing and prawning facilities. Perfect for some midnight fun!

There’s a slew of F&B options for just about everyone.

The dining options at ORTO are diverse – choose from Thai fare at Mookata, Chinese seafood at Long Jiang Chinos or local delights at SGMY. There’s also a casual bar-cum-bistro called Quench!. Plans for more F&B venues are in the works as well.

There are plenty of activities to engage in.

Besides fishing and prawning facilities, there’s a paintball park and futsal pitches that are both slated to open by end-April. Alternatively, there’s always the option of strolling along the promenade and appreciating the sights and sounds of nature.

It’s kid-friendly.

The entire park is stroller- and wheelchair-friendly. Other thoughtful touches ensure that your kids stay safe – for instance, the longkang fishing areas boast non-slip concrete flooring, and the graduated depths of the pond cater to children of different heights and ages.

ORTO is located at 81 Lorong Chencharu, an 8-minute walk from Khatib MRT station. For more information, visit www.orto.sg.
