Spawned by an online store, 
Vain Glorious You is the brick and mortar store that local blogger Tricia Ong opened late last year. The trendy skirts and dresses, like the Vita Floral Printed Satin Midi Skirt ($53.90), are equally suited for work or a dinner date. Prices are slightly lower online, but the physical store is worth a visit, if only to try on the pieces before buying them. A limited selection of shoes and accessories are available too.

Co-owned by sisters Michelle and Sandra Chia, this boutique stocks one-of-a-kind vintage dresses for a steal! Take your pick from its printed dresses in elegant cuts, which you can pair with one of the many eye-catching accessories such as its statement necklaces and glam earrings – perfect for a casual Friday or high tea 
with the girls.

Cycling aficionados will welcome Tokyobikes’ sister store, with its gorgeous range of leather bicycle accessories from Brooks England. Even if you you don’t own a Tokyobike, you will be able to get your bike fitted with items like the iconic B17 Standard Saddle ($170) and the Glenbrook Holdall ($260), which are compatible with all bikes. Even non-cyclists will find it easy to appreciate its range of sturdy leather bags, like the moulded B1 Leather Bag in Honey ($230).

PITA BAKERY

Started by a Middle Eastern businessman and operated by locals, this simple bakery prides itself on being the only place you can find freshly baked pita breads in Singapore. It supplies its additive- and preservative-free breads to various local hotels. Try spreading some of its homemade Hummus ($12 for a 250g container) on a Premium White Pita 
($1 each, $5 for six) and fill it with roast chicken and vegetables for a light but wholesome meal.

Owner Frank Yap makes gluten-free cookies by substituting flour with finely ground oatmeal. Baked fresh daily, the cookies come in light and crunchy 
bite-sized pieces, excellent for controlled snacking, and when kept in their sealed bag, they can keep for weeks. Frank provides customisable cookie orders as well – eggless and even sugarless cookies can be prepared upon request.
