To keep track of your schedule
24me
I found using the resident calendar app (which syncs to that of my iPhone) on the Apple Watch a hassle – I needed to scroll down the watch screen to see my daily schedule, organised by time. This app makes it easier to see what’s up today, with a list of my appointments.

For quick reminders
Evernote
An extension of the note-taking app, I like how easy it is to dictate reminders to the watch. The app then saves these as reminders that I can access on my watch, phone and computer. Its sheer simplicity beats other task manager apps like Wunderlist, 2do and Goodtask 2 hands down.

To check the arrival times of the next bus and MRT
Citymapper
This is a handy real-time guide to check when the next bus or train will arrive. You can do almost the same with apps like SGnextbus and SMRTConnect, but they are dedicated to either buses or the MRT – this one does both. Citymapper also lets you search for public transport options to get to destinations you have saved in the app on your phone.

For news on the go
Asiaone
Gives you a quick update of the top headlines and a summary of the day’s stories, so you’re always in touch with the news.

For baby updates
What to expect
Every pregnant woman should have this app. Key in your expected due date and it gives you a daily update of how far your baby is coming along with an estimate of its height and weight. There’s also a daily tip and a weekly info nugget, such as: “This week, her eyes, which until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open.”
