Looking for some last minute goodies to fill your home? NTUC Fairprice has more than enough. In fact, you can find tons of snacks for under $10!

We sort out the 5 must-try snacks from the supermarket under $10:

1. CHEWLY NYONYA SNOW LEAF COOKIES

Priced at: $8.95
Smothered in powdery icing sugar, this is looks more suited for Christmas than for the CNY festive period. But one bite into its peanut-paste core and you’ve got the perfect Chinese New Year goodie. The icing sugar coats a crumbly pastry that surrounds the core. What’s great about the peanut-paste core is its texture: like a crunchy nut butter, it doesn’t leave you in desparate need for water unlike other peanut-based treats. This almost tastes like muah chee in cookie form.

2. WANG LYE PRAWN ROLLS
Priced at: $5.95 (now $3.95)
We tried several prawn roll brands and concluded that Wang Lye’s was the best. It had the right balance between hae bee (dried prawn) filling and spring roll pastry, wasn’t too spicy (which is perfect for kids) and was stuffed enough to give it a “shiok” bite. The bottle’s a tad small, but at $3.95, you can afford to buy at least two bottles.

3. CRAB STICK CRACKERS

Priced at: $9.50 (now $8.50)
The ultimate guilty pleasure. Some say that this is easily made at home with an airfryer and the right brand of crab meat (use DoDo brand!). But a) I’m too lazy, b) nothing beats eating it out of a bottle. Crunchy and deep-fried, this has that msg-filled, flour-like flavour everyone loves from artificial crab meat. You know it’s bad for you, but it tastes so good! We found deep-fried lotus chips too, but they couldn’t match up to these. These were crisp and crunchy while the lotus chips were oily and slightly soggy.

4. CHOCOLATE CHEESE COOKIES

Priced at: $7.95
This strange combination terrified me, especially with its light coating of desicated coconut. But one bite and I had no regrets. The team was split into two camps over these cookies. Some loved it (myself included) some hated it. “Too chocolatey!” said one. “Yar, totally no cheese!” said another. Well, there is a very very subtle cheese taste that nudges into the chocolate-flavour of the cookies. So subtle that it merely lifts the flavour of the chocolate higher. Light and crumbly, this is a snack that will surprise and delight your guests.

5. GREEN PEA COOKIES
Priced at: $4.40
These are perfectly powdery, melt-in-your-mouth cookies with a little crunch from dried peas. It combines the sweetness of the peas with savoury pastry giving you a tasty treat that you can’t stop popping into your mouth. The only trouble is that they get a little dry after a while.

SPECIAL MENTION: DURIAN EGG ROLLS

Priced at: $6.95
“Tastes just like potong ice cream!” said one of the team members. Unfortunately, these aren’t made of real durian. It’s laced with durian flavour, but still doesn’t stop it from being addictive! The pungent durian smell fills the area when you open up the container, and when you inhale the egg roll and bite into it, the aroma fills your mouth. The flavour of the durian is very light, you taste more crunchy egg roll (think love letters) than durian, but the aroma lingers after you finish one.
