3 BITES FULL NOUGATS
From green tea to satsumaimo (Japanese sweet potato), the nougats ranged from the familiar to the uncommon. We like the Bobocharchar best – the coconut flavour and small chunks of taro chips were pleasant surprises in the not-too-sweet treat.
$8.50, from www.crateful.com.sg and Whole & Hearty, #01-84 Icon Village, 12 Gopeng Street, tel: 9855-4290

THE MLK CO ALMOND MLK ORIGINAL
Without any added sugar, the natural sweetness and flavour of almond shone through in this milk that’s lighter than store-bought ones.
$6.50, from www.crateful.com.sg and Whole & Hearty

SOCIAL FOOD CO. EARL GREY KAYA
Smooth and thick, the combination of coconut, pandan and Earl Grey makes the kaya deliciously fragrant. We also love the hint of citrus flavour that gave it a refreshing twist.
$10, from www.naiise.com, www.batch.sg or order from www.facebook.com/socialfoodcompany

SECOND HELPINGS BEENUT BUTTER
All three flavours of the peanut butter – original, cocoa and coconut vanilla – are less sweet than regular ones, with a natural nutty flavour, hint of saltiness, and a sandy texture from finely grounded peanuts. They are equally good atop a vanilla ice cream or on hot and crisp toast.
$12.90, from Hive (#01-890, 46 Jalan Bukit Ho Swee), Mondays Off (76 Haji Lane), The Redundant Shop (#01-22, Block 5 Everton Park, tel: 6707-2005), SPRMRKT (2 McCallum Street, tel: 6221-2105)

STRAITS PRESERVES MARMALADES
Not your usual jams, these spreads are made with tropical fruits. The Tropical Calamansi Marmalade was a nice mix of sweet, sour and bitter, with bits of fruits for bite. The Singapore Sling Marmalade was sweeter, with a blend of fruits like oranges, lemons, limes, and a predominant cherry flavour.
From $14, from The Bread Project, 174 Joo Chiat Road, tel: 6440-9228, and www.crateful.com.sg, www.naiise.com and www.batch.sg
