You’ll find paper decorations like tissue pom poms (from $1.80 each) and honeycomb pom poms (from $2.40 each) for kids’ birthday parties, as well as a good selection of party ware like wooden spoons and forks ($6 for 10), printed paper cups ($4.90 for 10), plates ($5.90 for 10) and straws ($4.80 for 25).

Save yourself a trip to its Woodlands outlet and head on down to the newly opened branch. Besides its signature smoked and frozen salmon products, the seafood wholesaler has expanded their offerings to include a range of reasonably-priced frozen soups ($3.30 to $5.80 for a 500g pack) and sauces ($4.50 for a 500g pack), all cooked in-house and promptly frozen. For something more unusual, there’s the Smoked Pepper Mackerel and Smoked Marlin ($7.90 for a 125g pack), perfect for whipping up gourmet sandwiches or pasta with.

If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic or just looking to add to your vinyl collection, Curated Records might just be your musical treasure trove. The cosy store stocks a good collection of albums from both mainstream and underground artistes, so expect to find Adele and Norah Jones along with Weezer and Deep Purple. If you need recommendations, seek out the friendly and knowledgeable owner Tremon Lim, who will be more than happy to share his musical expertise. Vinyls go for anything from $30 to $45. It even stocks the ultra-stylish Music Hall MMF-2.2LE Turntable ($760), a good option for brilliant sound on a budget.
