EDITOR’S RAVE
Aunt Jemima Original Pancake and Waffle Mix
$7.25, from Cold Storage
Turning out thick but light and slightly fluffy pancakes, this batter was the unanimous favourite. It also had a nice salty-sweet balance.

MOST CLASSIC
Betty Crocker Complete Pancake Mix Buttermilk
$7.15, from Cold Storage and FairPrice
The buttermilk flavour gave the mildly sweet pancakes a tinge of sourness that was appetising. Light, springy and chewy, the pancakes went well with maple syrup and were also good on their own.

MOST FLUFFY
Morinaga Hotcake Mix
$7.50, from Fish Mart Sakuraya and Isetan Scotts Supermarket
The fluffiest of the lot, these pancakes were sweet and chewy, although some testers found that the pancakes stuck to their teeth. Pairing them with syrup was too sweet – we preferred them with berries or just a pat of butter.

BEST FOR KIDS
White Wings Panjacks Pancake Mix
$4.80, from Cold Storage and Fairprice
Meant to be cooked as mini pancakes, they were thin, sweet and surprisingly tasty enough to be eaten on their own – great as recess food for kids.
