How to look fashionably sexy for your man without looking trashy!
This is for all the fashion girls out there who face this problem: Boyfriends protesting your trendy wardrobe. Check out how we work around their concerns so you can look sexy and on-trend at the same time

My boyfriend never understands my wardrobe choices, especially with all the man-repelling styles that are all the rage these days. Wide-leg culottes, oversized hoodies, asymmetrical shirt dresses and chunky platforms. He scratches his head in confusion whenever I go shopping with him.
Needless to say, being the fashion enthusiast I am, my fashion credibility overrides my boyfriend’s opinions. Besides, I firmly believe that a woman should always dress for herself. Wear whatever you feel most confident in because fashion is here to empower you, not please the crowd.
However, on a couple of rare occasions (e.g. his birthday or our anniversary) I feel like I want to make him happy and dress according to his fancy but without compromising on the style aspect. We all know that runway trends aren't usually up the boyfriends’ alley.
So all you fashion girls out there who face the same problem, here are six sexy yet extremely on-trend pieces you can consider for your next date night!

1. Off-shoulder anything
Off-shoulder is the one trend that was all over the runways and then the high streets for spring summer 2016 and it’s fast becoming a wardrobe essential. What’s more, revealing the top of your decolletage (collarbones and shoulders) is less risqué than cleavage, so it takes sexy up a classy notch!
2. Silk slip dress
In the fashion world right now, we are all about bringing back the best of the '90s. Chokers came in first, followed closely by the slip dress. These slinky pieces are figure hugging but possess none of the cheap trashy vibe of stretchy bodycon dresses. If you are afraid of it looking too sloppy and suggestive, read this story on how you can style them to look elegant and polished.
3. Lace dress
Lace is usually the first fabric I go for whenever I want to look romantic and sultry for a date. It always makes me feel beautiful whenever I put it on. I am sure every girl has that one classic lace dress sitting in her wardrobe for a big occasion. (If you don’t you should really invest in one!)
However, if you would like to look more on trend, go for macramé lace. Self-Portrait was one of the main labels that pioneered this trend when the fashion influencers were seen all over social media in these dreamy pieces. You can also find more lace styling tips here.
4. Feminine florals
Florals encompass such a wide spectrum of variety, it is definitely tricky to nail it. But yes, they can be sexy too. Go for simple and more clean-cut prints or detail as big complicated ones easily come across as messy and cheap.
Tiny floral bits in high-contrast color combinations will do the trick. If you don’t want to look too #basic, get more tips on how to wear florals here.
5. Add a little sparkle
Shiny accessories like earrings and necklaces can help to lift the overall colour and brighten your skin tone up. However, remember to style them to bring out your best features.
Wearing too much detracts your man’s attention from your gorgeous features! Just pick one piece as your focal point — say, a pair of chunky gold earrings — and then scale back on the rest.
6. Embellished heels
By now, you should know that I have never been – and will never be – an advocate for heels. Unfortunately, it’s hard to dispute that fact that high heels do really make my legs appear slimmer. So I tend to reserve this style of shoes for date nights.
Check out these five great tips on how you can wear them comfortably for the whole night here. If you would still rather stick to flats, check out our tips and tricks on how you can still look slim here!
