We met seven years ago…
Annabelle is a Cathay Pacific flight attendant. We met seven years ago at a friend’s gathering. After that, we'd bump into each other when out with others. Other times, we’d be at the same events, and not even see each other. Then we finally met again properly at the opening of a bar owned by a mutual friend, and our romance took off from there.
I love her because…
She sees my good points instead of dissecting all my flaws and bad habits, always has great things to say about me when talking with her friends, and believes in me – even in my worst moments. I also love her determination, commitment and the sacrifices she’s made for us. She even takes care of my family as well as she does hers. Lastly, her personality is awesome! She makes people laugh and always has a good time. Even my friends have become her friends.

Positively cute!
I met my Gwen on a mobile dating app. I love how cute and adorable she can be. She’s always positive and optimistic. What’s more, we share the same goals and objectives.
Morning proposal…
It took place in Taipei City, Taiwan. It was a beautiful day and we’d just finished cycling to the top of Elephant Mountain, which is where I popped the question because I wanted the Taipei 101 as our backdrop. Now, Taiwan is our favourite destination and I’ve promised that we’d go back every year so she can shop!

Uni love…
I met Amanda about four years ago. We were Nanyang Technological University undergrads on our hall’s event committee. I was quite smitten, but didn’t have the courage to approach her. Then she heard me playing the guitar at a gathering and joined me in a song. Afterwards, we couldn’t stop talking. Barely months into our friendship, Amanda left for an overseas exchange programme, and we found creative ways to communicate despite the distance and time difference. On hindsight, the time apart was a blessing as it allowed us to lay a solid foundation for our relationship.
She said “Yes” in Santorini…
I proposed during our holiday in Santorini, Greece. Months before the trip, I connected with a restaurant in Oia, a coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini, informed them of my intentions, and asked if they would help me by dressing up a private terrace overlooking the caldera for a date night. They generously offered to provide a photographer and decorations as well. When we got there, I blindfolded Amanda, guided her to the terrace, and popped the question. At first, she cheekily said ‘no’ and ran away. Much to my relief, she reappeared and said ‘yes!’

Completely smitten…
My Vanessa is petite, wears minimal makeup, looks like the girl next door and is always smiling. We met on a snorkelling trip to Tioman Island that she’d organised. With 15 of us on board, planning the itinerary took patience. Vanessa handled everything with poise and made sure we were all well taken care. That’s when I took better notice of her. By the end of the trip, I was completely smitten.
Marriage goals…
The ultimate goal is to build a marriage that will last till our last breathe. I always envy my parents, both in their 60s, who still hold hands on date nights. I hope our marriage will be just as great. I also want to raise my kids the way I was raised to be useful persons who can contribute to society. They don't need not be clever or talented. As long as they have good manners and treat people fairly, I believe I will be a satisfied dad.
