Jewellery label Swarovski have been collaborating with fashion designers way before the term “collab” was on everyone’s lips. Since the early 1900’s, Swarovski has worked with the likes of Chanel and Dior to produce show stopping pieces.

In a bid to commit to nurturing emerging talent, Atelier Swarovski was created in 2007. This luxury fashion accessory arm follows the fashion calendar with two collections a year and aims to bring to life the creative ideas of designers with its crystal expertise.

Atelier Swarovski by Christopher Kane

Like all good partnerships, Spring Summer 2014 sees the return of previous Atelier Swarovski collaborators Christopher Kane and Juan Carlos Obando. British designer Kane’s crystal mesh Bolster has become an iconic Atelier Swarovski piece since its introduction in 2007. The Bolster collection has been expanded to include pendants, chains and frosted flowers through the years. This season sees the extremely malleable but tough Bolster reworked in new Spring Summer 2014 colours.

Atelier Swarovski by Juan Carlos Obando

The same goes for Obando. The LA-based designer first worked together with Atelier Swarovski for Spring Summer 2013 and a year later his chain link accessories have been recreated into statement pieces with a whole lot of Swarovski bling.

Atelier Swarovski by Maison Martin Margiela

Maison Martin Margiela also comes on board this season. The MMM Atelier Swarovski collaboration is a whitewash collection of sparkling futuristic and asymmetric jewellery inspired by the fashion house’s haute couture collection. The crystals are fashioned as icicles – highlighting Maison Martin Margiela’s signature clean and innovative style.

Atelier Swarovski house collection

This year also sees the launch of the new signature House collection. The inspiration for the in-house line comes from founder Daniel Swarovski’s couture jewellery archives. The first collection has 19 sophisticated and timeless contemporary pieces that work perfect for both day and night. The organically shaped interlocking beads encrusted with crystals form necklaces and bracelets that creates a fluid movement.

The Atelier Swarovski Spring Summer 2014 collections will be available in March 2014 at the Swarovski boutique at #B2-18 The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
