Who is the most stylish Presidential pair?

1/6

As Donald Trump stepped up to take the Presidential throne, all eyes were on both the man and his ex-model wife Melania. Their joint responsibilities are a heavy burden to bear – but so are the sartorial choices of the leading White House couple.

The world watches on with breath that is bated...so the ensemble choices for all public appearances must be as polished as the Oval Office presidential desk.

So, without further ado, let’s take a peek at the past five Presidents, their First Ladies and a whole lot of style.

While Donald played it safe with his monochrome tuxedo, we have to give fash kudos to his wife Melania. Being an ex-model, she knows how to rock an ensemble or two.

The exposed shoulders and flattering fishtail gown accentuates her delightfully feminine silhouette and offers that high-impact look needed for red carpet events.

Barack and Michelle Obama

Let us all take a moment. This gown deserves full recognition. To her credit, Michelle has spent her entire First Lady duties dressed to impress and rocking fashion-forward pieces, with nary a misstep to show for it.

We do heart her so. She knows what will win our hearts, which includes the earthy ethereal palette of this floor-length gown. While Barack wears his two-piece suit well enough, Michelle is the one who wins this fash-election.

George and Laura Bush

Whilst it may well have been cold out, we’re not too sure why this pair decided to dress quite so similarly. We get that you’re a couple, but there’s no need to co-ord everything.

It would have been nice to see Laura venture out in a splash of colour. The overall dour feel of their attire is, we’re sorry to say, hardly uplifting for the spirit.

Bill and Hillary Clinton

We do appreciate a good pinstripe suit. Sure, a President must be well presented (see what we did there?) at all times, but that doesn’t mean he can’t switch up his staples. We also enjoy Hillary’s purple jacket.

She could have gone for pale blue to match her husband’s tie, but she decided...nah. I won’t conform. I shall wear my purple jacket and my smile and that is enough. We got you Hillary...we got you.

Ronald and Nancy Reagan

Now this is a couple that exudes timeless class. His perfectly groomed hair and the slick jacket done up over the crisp white shirt; her floor length black gown given a dash of visual interest via the embellished gold bodice...we dig it all.

They’ve shown us that you can age gracefully – and with some style, too. Couple goals right here.
