The S/S ‘20 trend perfect for Valentine's Day: Hosiery

A quick and easy guide to wearing bralettes without looking too risque: here are four different outfits to recreate for date night

During the S/S ‘20 presentations at Paris Fashion Week, a rather eyebrow-raising trend prevailed. Being worn loud and proud as a stand-in for blouses, soft bralettes had the spotlight on them as they made their way down the runways paired next to sun-soaked summer-friendly bottoms like ruched pareos and wrap skirts, or relaxed suiting rendered in bright spring hues (think: coral ala Jonathan Simkhai or picnic mat-esque red checks at Michael Kors).

Embroidered with florals in crochet at Dior, sporting pastel ruffles and quirky prints at Lanvin and crafted from dainty sheer panels and crystals at Loewe, teeny little bralettes sport a rather sweet demeanor for spring 2020. Worn nonchalantly and confidently, hosiery prevails as a chic, non-outre choice of separate that looks both fresh and contemporary for the season.

With that being said, we know the prospect of wearing visible bralettes may seem intimidating to say the least. For those of us who don’t want to show off too much midriff, layering a relaxed blazer and matching high-waisted trousers will do the trick in offering the right balance to offset the bralette’s risque nature.

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, we thought that there’s no better opportunity to bust out the hosiery trend for a romantic date night. Below, we’ve curated 4 different looks for you to try out this V-Day.
