More and more local fashion e-commerce brands such as Fayth and Runway Bandits have been establishing a physical presence at Plaza Singapura

An entire floor dedicated to blogshops - imagine that.

Popular shopping mall Plaza Singapura is doing just that for its millennial shoppers.

Now when you visit basement 1 of the mall, you’ll find that you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to blogshops. Runway Bandits, Addicts Anonymous, Shopsassydream and Fayth are now conglomerated there.

The growing cluster of online-turned-offline retailers called for a celebration in the form of an underground event named #StyleFeed Fashion Party which took place last Friday (Apr 20).

Featuring pieces from the newest collections belonging to these brands, public figures and social media influencers Daryl Aiden Yow, Mongchin Yeoh and Ellie Tan gave a “styling masterclass” where they shared tips with the guests on creating an “Insta-worthy” ensemble.

Attendees were also given a tour of the blogshops’ physical stores.

Having a physical retail space solves many conundrums which used to plaque all our online shopping bliss. This includes sizing problems (getting it wrong and having to send them back), quality checks, delays in delivery and a lack of interactivity with the brand itself.

There is a feedback corner at Fayth, which opened at Plaza Singapura on April 7, where customers can leave comments on the store as well as request for designs they wish to see the brand manufacture.

Ninth Collective at Plaza Singapura

Ninth Collective is not new -  it went physical at the mall in 2014 - but it has store-exclusive promotions not found online, and sales assistants who are available to offer styling advice.

Runway Bandits also has a styling board to boost interactivity and communication between the brand and its customers; every month a soon-to-be-released design is displayed on the board and customers can vote for the colours of the outfit that they want the shop to carry.

Also, since these stores are located in close vicinity, it saves us a tonne of time and effort when it comes to last-minute shopping.

New collections will also appear at some of these stores before they are officially released online, offering customers a quicker turnover of new apparel options and variety. Now that’s quite an incentive - don’t you think?
