If there’s one thing you should know from the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter’19 runways, it is that bags are getting smaller and smaller. Mini, micro and nano bags were seen on the runways of Jacquemus, Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch and Marc Jacobs, amongst many others, and we reckon that these bags will only rise in popularity as time passes — and why not? They are so tiny and cute that you can’t help going: “Awww, must.have.these.”
But before you scoff at these bags for being impractical for daily use, remember that they were created for people who thrive on a pared-down lifestyle. These petite pieces are especially great for days (and nights out) where you want to bring as little as possible — i.e. just a lippie, some powder for touch up, a credit card, keys and your cell.
Some of them, however, are so teensy they could only fit AirPods (we’re looking at you Jacquemus’s F/W’19 Mini Le Chiquito), so ehh…maybe give these microscopic ones a miss. Instead, here are some that are both tiny yet useful enough that you don’t have to lug around a heavy bag.

Balenciaga’s irreverence presents itself in the form of a tote bag reminiscent of the brand’s paper bag that comes accompanied with your purchase. If you really want to play up the playful illusion, then we suggest skipping this fiery red number and opting for the black or grey ones instead. This square tote also features a removable adjustable strap that transforms it to a shoulder or crossbody bag for casual, handsfree weekend dates.
