Here at herworldPLUS we love supporting Singapore designers and artisans, especially when they’re creating such beautiful things.
The new Shophouse collection by one of Singapore’s best known jewellers, Choo Yilin, has been inspired by the soft, pretty colours of Singapore’s Peranakan heritage shophouses in the Joo Chiat district.
Built between the 1840s and 1960s, the shophouses are known for their intricate motifs, ornate facades and especially for colourful ceramic tiles. The jewellery pieces in the collection were particularly inspired by the pastel coloured facades and the archetypal window and door shapes, so they chose stones like rose quartz and light blue and light green chalcedony in emerald cuts.
The stones are set in silver ‒ priced from $288 to $388 – and are also available in 9 karat or 18 karat gold – priced from $1,188 onwards; the collection is available exclusively online at www.chooyilin.com or you can make an appointment to see the collection at the Joo Chiat Shophouse store at 331 Joo Chiat Road.
