Jennifer Sarkilahti put her Masters of Fine Arts to good use when she started her jewellery line, Odette in 2006. Her background allowed her to bring pencil sketches into hand-crafted pieces of art. Under her skillful hands, inspiration from tattoos, museum exhibitions and the likes are merged with influences from Bali, Morocco, Greece and Turkey to form gorgeous solid silver and brass jewellery.
This Odette Mandala cuff is one such example. First carved by hand from wax then cast in recycled brass, each piece is different in colour and texture, making it truly one of a kind. The organic form and intricate cut-out motif could be spider web or a royal family crest unearthed from an ancient civilisation – making this a real conversation starter!
