It’s high time we give our skinny jeans (you know, the ones that we kept going back to whenever we can’t decide on what to wear) a good break. That’s because a flurry of designers has appeared to ditch the skinny jean in favour of the oversized aesthetic on the Spring/Summer 2022 runways, including Molly Goddard, MSGM and New York fashion wunderkind Peter Do.

To be honest, we’re not entirely surprised. It makes perfect sense, especially now that the line between work and weekend wear has been blurred. Don’t we all want to feel comfortable in what we wear whether we’re working from home or heading back to the office?

Which is why we’re welcoming loose, baggy jeans back into our lives with our arms wide open. Unlike their skin-tight cousins, baggy jeans offer us ease of movement. They allow us to bend, jump and run as we like. So really, there’s nothing that’s stopping us from falling in love with them.
