By now, we all know too well how loungewear had become 2020’s style sleeper hit. Women have switched out their unnecessarily tight and uncomfortable fits for their jammies. And while some of us are still working from home in this new year, this new range makes the perfect excuse for us to shop for more comfy pieces that look good and feel good.

With that in mind, homegrown label, Rye which is known for its transitional capsule collections and reimagined wardrobe perennials wants to push the idea of pyjamas and boudoir dressing beyond WFH territory with the debut of its inaugural loungewear collection.

Launching today on the brand’s e-shop, the collection of co-ord sets, ribbed tank tops, boxer shorts, drawstring pants, and robes is what founder Bessie Ye describes as her “vision to blur the lines between everyday-wear and sleepwear”.

And it is easy to see why Ye’s androgynous-leaning designs are suitable – if not perfect – to be worn out of the home. Take for instance the oversized boxy shirts with their wide utilitarian pockets – these will not look out of place when worn with jeans or skirts.

Meanwhile, the pinstripe pyjama pants boast a subtly flared silhouette and a turn-up cuff detail and is a versatile piece that will work effortlessly with tank tops or a blazer. A favourite of ours: the oversized pyjama top with a lapel collar, shortened sleeves and an exaggerated hem which is a relaxed yet elegant alternative to the white shirt.

All of the designs come in cooling fabrics like cotton, linen or a linen-viscose blend and rendered in Rye’s signature muted colour palette. To complete the loungewear collection, the brand also offers its so-called Self-Care Kits comprising scrunchies, tea towels and a pillow mist that utilise the same materials used in the loungewear collection.
