From The Straits Times    |

As a big fan of everything and anything streetwear, the recent new store openings of the freshest international streetwear fashion labels like Off-White and the Fenty x Puma autumn winter 2016 launch at Pedder on Scotts has got me yearning for more – so I decided to go on a little hunt to search for more streetwear fashion brands in Singapore to satisfy that need.

And lo and behold, here’s a list – in no particular order – of the hottest streetwear brands and stores (both offline and online) stores you can shop in Singapore to level up your street cred! You can thank me later.

PHYSICAL STORES

OFF-WHITE

Known for its iconic stripe print, the Off-White brand designed by Virgil Abloh has been making a name for itself on the streets and in the fashion industry. Celebrities like Rihanna, Beyonce and Kylie Jenner have all been seen sporting the signature stripes. If you are looking for a streetwear piece that will never go out of style, you can find it here. It will be worth the investment – trust us.

Where: 268 Orchard Road, #012-01, Singapore 238856

For more information, check out their official website.

COMME DES GARÇONS PLAY

I’m sure you are all familiar with the heart-shape-with-eyes logo from Comme Des Garcons Play. It never fails to add the quirk factor to freshen up a plain ol’ white tee. CDG Play will always be one of my favourite streetwear brands.

Where: Hilton Hotel Singapore, 581 Orchard Road, #02-39/40, Singapore 238883

For more information, check out their official website.

Y-3 by YOHJI YAMAMOTO

If you prefer more androgynous flair to your streetwear get-up, you can find it at Y-3. No one quite does deconstructed streetwear as well as Yohji Yamamoto.

Where: Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road, #01-05, Singapore

For more information, check out their official website.

FENTY X PUMA

Has Rihanna ever disappointed? Well…maybe a little bit with her Fenty x Puma collection. Don’t get me wrong – I love the whole grungy sportswear look, but perhaps it is my not-so-long Asian arms that makes me upset over the (ridiculously) long sleeves of her laced sweatshirts that I really want but will probably never fit into. But if you don’t mind that, this collection is #flawless.

Where: Scotts Square, 6 Scotts Rd, Level 2, Singapore 228209

STUSSY

I am a huge fan of Stussy – and I always will be. My stash of T-shirts comprises mostly of Stussy tees and I still keep (and wear) the OG pieces from the 90s. Why? Stussy T-shirts are perfect for everyday wear and will never get old.

Where: Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, 8 Grange Road, #03-03, Singapore 239695

For more information, check out their official website.

BATHING APE

Another one of my favourite brands to get my T-shirts from. Although they are a little bit more expensive (as compared to Stussy), these tees are made out of a thicker cotton material – which comes in handy on rainy days.

Where: Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road, #02-08/10, Singapore 238897.

SURRENDEROUS

Here’s a new store that I have just discovered. Hidden in Mandarin Gallery, Surrendous is a multi-label fashion store that carries popular internationally-known street labels like Ambush Design and Undercover. Now that I’ve discovered this gem, I cannot wait to head to the store and explore it for myself.

Brands: Ambush Design, Stampd L.A, Undercover and more.

Where: Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road, #02-16, Singapore 238897

For more information, check out their official website.

ALCOHOLIDAY

Alcoholiday is a multi-label fashion store situated in Cathay Cineleisure carrying everything from Obey to Thrasher. Here’s a little insight: Look out for the brand Bleach – it carries cool punk “designer” tees that you won’t be able to stop yourself from buying. (#guilty)

Brands: Obey, Thrasher, X-large and more.

Where: Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, 8 Grange Road, #02-01, Singapore 239695

For more information, check out their official Facebook page.
