Gucci and The North Face teams up for a new collaboration and this is how it looks like

After months of anticipation, the time has finally come. Gucci has officially unveiled their collaboration with The North Face. The unlikely fashion collection we never saw coming will feature everything from ready-to-wear apparel and footwear, to essential hiking gear such as tents and sleeping bags — while taking on Gucci's signature aesthetic.

Inspired by ideas of exploration and self-discovery, Gucci taps into designs by The North Face from the '70s. Here, you'll see a marriage of Gucci's recognisable designs in the structure of some of The North Face's iconic silhouettes. Standout items from the collection include their goose-down feather padded coats and bomber jackets, that will arrive in floral iterations and a monogram print. To add some fun into your capsule collection, the collab will also see T-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets emblazoned with the special Gucci x The North Face logo.

But for the adventure-seeking one, you'll be thrilled to know that the collection also offers co-branded hiking boots that arrive in three colourways — brown, black and cream — that come with a sturdy Goodyear-welted sole and The North Face x Gucci logo prominently displayed on the side.

As depicted in their new campaign (photographed and directed by Daniel Shea), the designer's maximalist style is skewed to the outdoors. Think — a group of Gucci-clad hikers, who camp by the lakes, alongside forests and peaks of the region form a vast and breath-taking scenic backdrop to the imagery. It feels like wanderlust is at an all-time high as we dream of normalcy again in this era of pandemics.
