Good food is made with creativity and care, and so is good design. Both are also meant to be appreciated, shared, consumed and enjoyed on a daily basis. However, you don’t have to go to the typical arty galleries to appreciate design; You can immerse yourself in the world of food and design combinations in everyday life.

Delight your tastebuds and feed your mind at MilleniaWalk’s A Trail of Delicious Design Campaign, a satellite partner of Singapore Design Week. Through interactive installations, showcases, masterclasses, shopper rewards and promotions, visitors will discover the mall’s commitment to design.

Many design events are targeted at the design industry and there can be a divide between the general public and design appreciation. Millenia Walk cooks up creative possibilities by combining everyday, relatable themes with design.

Being a well-designed mall, there isn’t even a need to go the extra mile to showcase this. In fact, it has a number of restaurants and stores with a strong focus on design, in individual various ways.

Whether you’re looking for creative flower arrangements or unique lifestyle and furniture products, they’re all here at Millenia Walk.

Flower Matters (#01-91A) handpicks exotic flowers from all over the world then artfully puts them together to form stunning floral designs, while

Grafunkt (#02-34 to 36) is an independent, forward-thinking lifestyle brand that specialises in well thought-out furniture, and aims to promote good design appreciation through the products it carries.

Witness the power of design at Vitra (#02-32) – the legendary Swiss company has been creating innovative products and concepts since 1950 and believes that good design never goes out of style.

Commune (#02-21 / #02-51 to 53), a homegrown furniture design and lifestyle company, creates products and experiences that make a meaningful difference in your home; the quality designs at affordable prices feature themes including Retro Modern, Minimalist, Rustic and Industrial.

Bowers & Wilkins (#01-108), a brand synonymous with prestige and high-performance audio for over 50 years, celebrates this milestone with the new 800 Series Diamond. It doesn’t just look good, it creates a sound so immediate, so detailed and so textured, you’ll want to touch it. The result of an intensive seven-year project to make the best better, the changes involve a vast number of technological, engineering and acoustic innovations that combine to create a sublime listening experience. 


Designed For More Than Just Food

Mex Out (#01-88/89) serves healthy and hearty Mexican cuisine but it’s not just the food that will take your breath away. Everything at this restaurant engages your five senses – the colours, lighting and open kitchen are a sight to behold; the mix of modern and traditional Latin American music are sounds you’ll want to keep listening to; the choice of plates and serving style reference how it’s done in Mexico and you’ll want to touch them to explore; the open kitchen allows diners to engage with the enticing food smells; and your tastebuds will be thrilled by the authentic Mexican flavours. 

Representing the epitome of restorative dining experiences, Plentyfull (#01-79/80) serves dishes that soothe the soul and palate in equal measures. Most of the food is made from scratch daily so freshness is guaranteed. This carefully curated space features private booths for date night as well as expansive benches for communal dining with large groups. 


Award-Winning Decor

German microbrewery Paulaner Brauhaus (#01-01) won the prestigious Red Dot Award for their brand design relaunch in 2017. The establishment exudes an intimate and inviting vibe. Design features include its characteristic large polished bronze boiler, where the beer-making process begins, and the towering sky-blue candy-striped Maypole, a 16th century architectural antique. 


Uniquely-Designed Menu

Artisanal dark chocolate desserts are the order of the day at The Dark Gallery (#01-K5) but the art behind their making stands out too. Discover an appreciation for the nuances between single origin chocolates and chocolate blends through a series of tasting flights and an alluring array of confections.


A Designer’s Heaven

We The People (Atrium Level 2) is the world’s first physical retail store where people can see, touch and purchase products that were brought to life with the community on Kickstarter. The area at Millenia Walk comprises of a workshop area, a space for designers, as well as the retail store

Also, pop in for the Tasteful Spaces installation (6-29 April), an experiential space in collaboration with local design creatives and inspired by local dishes Chilli Crab, Nasi Lemak, Rojak and Kuehs.
