Former Miss Singapore Jessica Tan’s whimsical Alice-In-Wonderland wedding

The couple worked into Capella Singapore's grand ballroom a magical Alice In Wonderland theme: from their reception area to the table decor and to the bride's girlish and ethereal wedding gowns.

"We did the gatecrashing and tea ceremonies in the morning. The gatecrashing ceremony  was inspired by the Korean reality TV show,  Running Man. Yang Kang and his groomsmen were surprised by the challenging and exciting itinerary my bridesmaids had planned for them.

As for our wedding theme, we decided on an  Alice In Wonderland  theme for the banquet as we felt that the story – entering a new and unknown world with lots of unexpected scenarios and challenges – kind of reflected  what married life would be like.

I loved everything about our celebrations, but I wished we’d had more time to catch up with all our guests. I missed out on proper conversations with a lot of my long-time friends", says Jessica.

"Even though we were already technically man and wife, my heart raced with excitement when Yang Kang made it to my room after overcoming the gatecrashing obstacles.

I was even shy when he lifted my veil to kiss me!," exclaimed Jessica.

"Apart from “marrying” the man of my dreams again, I was very pleased that the decorations at the reception area and in the ballroom were exactly as I envisioned them.

I’m very grateful to my bridesmaids and close friends, who helped me realise my dream wedding", says Jessica.

“Yang Kang and I came up with the ideas, bought the decorations and brought them back to Singapore from Hong Kong, where we currently live. My close friends and bridesmaids helped us set them up.”
