"We kept certain crowd-pleasing traditional elements, like the yam seng toasts, but did away with the cake cutting ceremony, second march-in, childhood montage videos, and table photos.

Instead, we showcased personal messages from friends and mingled with guests. We felt we could share something about our personalities and love story, so everyone knew a little more about us."

"There was no hotel ballroom and no 10-course Chinese dinner. Also no table photos, outfit changes or second walk-ins.

We were set on celebrating the wedding with an after-party in one venue - and an open bar was key.

We've been to many dinners where everybody sat and waited for everyone else to decide where to go for the after-party, so we planned for everything to be out of the norm and had a fun night of drunken revelry and partying at 1-Altitude."

"We chose II Lido for our solemnisation and dinner reception as we both love Italian food and have fond memories of our holidays in Italy.

Everything was perfect - from the gorgeous views of the sunset and sea to the delicious food. Part of the fun came from keeping guests busy with activities.

There was a quiz (winners won vouchers), instant hair makeovers, a open bar and dancing."
