Following their traditional Chinese wedding, actress Cheryl Wee had a church ceremony at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and an enchanting wedding banquet celebration at the ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore on 1st July, 2017.
Guests were welcomed into a fantasy wonderland of glittering gold marquees, overflowing floral arrangements, and even unicorns!
No expense was spared, from their five-tiered wedding cake to the grand stairwell installed on their stage.
The spunky, fun-loving couple also gave several crowd-pleasing performances and screened their proposal story that took place while they were in Kyoto, Japan.
Some of the guests in attendance included Zoe Tay, Hong Hui Fang, Zheng Ge Ping, Jean Danker and Glenn Ong.
For the newly-weds, it was a night to remember, with many embraces and tears exchanged. And as the groom shared: "This is as perfect as life gets."

Cheryl with her Vera Wang gown that she wore for her church ceremony.
Here, she shares with us the story of her dress:
"Roy had planned and made bookings to bridal boutiques for me when I went over to Rome and London in June last year with my parents.
While I had my doubts, about how you would know the dress is the one when you see it, it happened for me in Vera Wang London."

"The general manager of Vera Wang London kindly invited us for a private trunk show and during which, I fell in love with the white Degmar Vera Wang gown.
I didn't even want to take it off! I told Roy right away and he said he would buy it for me."

The church ceremony meant a lot to the couple who are both Catholics.

The bride previously shared with us on how she envisioned her dream wedding:
"I’m walking down the aisle on my dad’s arm, and I’m wearing a dress I just want to be in forever to meet my future husband, who’s waiting for me at the altar.
The church ceremony is the most important highlight of the entire wedding, because we want God at the centre of our marriage, and for Him to bless us at the start of our new life together."

Wedding preparations aside, the couple also prepped themselves emotionally and spiritually for their marriage, attending the Catholic Marriage Preparation Course.
When asked about their wedding priorities, Cheryl said:
"[Our priorities are] God. And our parents, who have loved us unconditionally, and continue to give us so much of their time and affection. The wedding is just as important to them as it is to us. "

The couple dressed up their bridal party in contrasting pastel colours: blue for the girls and pink for the boys. Well-played we'd say.

The actress, who took ballet lessons as a child, chose to have a whimsical romantic celebration with rose gold as well as champagne hues, lots of flowers and unicorns - inspired by her love for all things pink, blush, and pretty ballerina costumes.

Cheryl and Roy had wanted both their families to be involved in the programme line-up, to make it unique and special.

"My blush banquet gown that I wore for my first march-in is also from Vera Wang. Both my mum and I fell in love with it.
After talking to the Vera Wang team about our banquet theme, they actually customised it in the shade I wanted even though they’ve never done it before!
Thus, my gown is the only piece in that colour and fabric. It was such a privilege and they were so helping in sending me swatches via post to Singapore to get the right shade.
What’s even more amazing was that they made the gown for me even before the official launch of the collection.
I was so happy and honoured to wear this gown," said Cheryl.

For their second march-in, the newly-weds performed a romantic duet of the song 从今以后的每一天 as they made their way in.

"Nothing in this world would mean anything if I ain't got you", said Roy to Cheryl.
Roy, who picked up playing the piano just two months ago, had practiced tirelessly everyday after work in preparation for this surprise performance of Alicia Key's "If I ain't got you" to his bride.
