A beautiful cross-cultural wedding in an 18th century French chateau
A beautiful chateau set the perfect backdrop for Sophia Liu and Remi Chauvy's intimate wedding with 80 close friends and family.
By Michelle Lee -
Sophia Liu and Remi Chauvy tied the knot in a sophisticated celebration with 80 guests at an 18th century chateau in one of the most glamorous countries in the world. She tells us:
"I met Remi when I was part of a university exchange programme in France, 2011, and then lost touch after I returned to Taiwan. We started chatting on Skype again in 2013, and so began our long-distance love affair. In 2014, Remi did his internship in Taiwan and proposed a week before Christmas while we were at a hot spring."

"Our wedding and celebration with family and friends took place in a beautiful chateau in the south of Nancy that's partly surrounded by a moat."
The newlyweds in front of their magnificent wedding venue. Sophia opted for an elegant lace mermaid with ruffled skirt, shoulder-baring neckline and long lace sleeves. Remi was dapper in a dark suit accented with a bold red boutonniere.
To reflect her roots, Sophia also donned a vivid cherry red cheongsam that had a sexy open back.
The bridesmaids wore white and carried clutches of white and red blooms, while the groomsmen kept it simple and smart in white shirts, and black pants and bow ties.

Everything we'd painstakingly prepared for big day came together perfectly. To represent our different cultures, we incorporated red (for Taiwan) and white (France) into the decor, and we gave away French dragees (hard, smooth, candy-coated almonds) in a white box with red ribbons. They are meant to signify good health, abundance, happiness and fertility.
